Consultation for pain and neurovascular compression
syndroms: trigeminal neuralgia,
hemifacial spasm, glossopharyngeal neuralgia,
hypertension This service
is for patients with hyperactive dysfunction syndromes of the cranial nerves
like the trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm and the glossopharyngeal
neuralgia. Different treatment options are offered and discussed.
This
comprises the medical treatment, radiofrequency, stereotactic radiation and
microvascular decompression. In this setting patient with severe resistant
arterial hypertension are also treated in regard of a possible microvascular
decompression, which can result into a control of blood pressure. The procedures are prepared by an intensive
interdisciplinary work up. For diagnostics newest results from our own
research on imaging and image processing are applied. Advanced techniques of
intra operative monitoring ensure a high standard of surgery. Further
